The North Shore Illinois chapter became a part of The Links, Incorporated
and the Central Area of The Links, Inc on November 19, 1972.
Links Vivian McMillan and Link Georgia
Williams were the driving force as co-organizers that brought this
chapter into existence. We were sponsored by the Chicago Chapter
of the Links, Inc., which was the only Links chapter in Chicagoland
at the time. Now there are eight chapters in metro Chicago.
Link Anna Julian was the Chapter Establishment
Officer, Link Willie Ganton, the Area Director and Link Helen Edmonds
was the National President.
The North Shore Illinois Chapter had
a beginning membership of 25 and one honorary member. The honorary
member was Link Etta Moten Barnett who later became a full member
of the chapter. |
